James “Landis” Prince — Founder & Lead Pilot

Veteran-Operated
Former Law Enforcement
sUAS-Certified Pilots

Landis founded Shadow Vet Drone Ops to bring aviation discipline and field-tested planning to civilian land management and professional drone services. He served 12 years in the U.S. Army (two deployments to Iraq), working as a UH-60 Blackhawk avionics & electronics mechanic and as military police. That background gave him a rigorous approach to maintenance, mission planning, and risk management.

After the military, Landis served in law enforcement—most recently as a Deputy Sheriff in Rankin County where he was Special Response Team certified and a heavy-vehicle operator—then as a Capitol Police patrol officer. He also brings hands-on technical experience from avionics training and field mechanic roles (including Tesla Mobile Service) alongside formal sUAS training.

At Shadow Vet Drone Ops Landis leads field operations, pilot training, safety & compliance, and government procurement/LOI engagements. His teams deliver repeatable, measurable missions: careful site assessments, documented flight plans, and clear post-mission reporting so landowners and partners get reliable results with minimal disruption.
